Behan’s Women – New York 1963

BEHAN'S WOMEN

My play Behan’s Woman was recently shown at The Space in Isle of Dogs.

The play is set in the Chelsea Hotel bar in New York in late 1963.  Beatrice Behan has come over from her home in Dublin to have it out with Brendan.  What happen’s next makes for great theatre!

My short monologue BRENDAN BEHAN STANDS UP, performed successfully recently at the Trapdoor/Red Kettle Xmas Shorts, was taken from a 3 hander called BEHAN’S WOMEN,which we performed in London a few years ago. Any local theatre company now has the opportunity to perform the Irish Premiere of this play – if they are game enough! (I am reasonable to deal with!)
